On 29 January 2026, the final results conference of the SIRENA project will take place. This initiative, developed by researchers from the CSIC-ICMAT and the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), has contributed to advancing knowledge on coastal dynamics and the processes affecting aquaculture in the southeast of Gran Canaria.
The event is designed as an open space for knowledge exchange, joint reflection, and connection between science, the productive sector, and the territory. The programme will also include the participation of invited experts closely linked to the project’s objectives, who will provide complementary perspectives from different professional and technical backgrounds.
Within this framework, the ACUICONECTA project will be presented through the following talk: “Acuiconecta: territorial cooperation and applied research for sustainable aquaculture in the central-eastern Atlantic”. The presentation will take place at 12:55 pm and will be delivered by Marianna Venuleo, Head of Section in the Department of Biotechnology at the Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias (ITC). The talk will introduce the project’s objectives, its territorial cooperation approach, and its main lines of work aimed at promoting sustainable aquaculture.
ACUICONECTA’s participation in this event highlights its commitment to knowledge transfer, collaboration with related projects, and the promotion of a more sustainable and innovative aquaculture sector in the Atlantic region.
